Episode #40 - True Blood Returns

Submitted by ElderDaniel on June 19, 2009 - 11:25pm.
  • Out Of The Coffin Podcast

* This is Episode #40 for June 19, 2009.
(Download MP3)

// NEWS
* My friend Bryan forwarded a link to me from the London Times of their original 1897 review of Dracula by Bram Stoker.

* I recorded my lines as Pete in Ep. #3 of Angel Between The Lines: "The Truth is Out There".
- Thanks to Kim, Heidi, and Jarrett for making that an awesome experience.

* I mentioned that I was a on another episode of the excellent Love Long and Prosper podcast (ep. #117). Yes, Dan and CJ host a Star Trek podcast, but CJ is a fan of vampires as well, so we chatted about the Las Vegas vampire revue "Bite" at the Stratosphere, and also Twilight, the New Moon trailer, and Eclipse. Also visiting was Jack Hosley, aka WNDRWolf of the always cool WanderRadio podcast.

// PROMOS
* The Love Long and Prosper podcast hosted by Dan and CJ Feierabend.

// MOONLIGHT
* We review the sixteenth and final episode, "Sonata".
- A murder investigation threatens to expose Mick's and Josef's identities, forcing them to band together with other vampires of Los Angeles to protect their secret.

// WATCH MOONLIGHT
* Moonlight still in reruns, airs Fridays at 9/8c PM on SciFi.
* Moonlight on DVD.
* You can rent the DVDs through NetFlix.
* You can watch it online or download it from Amazon Video, or download it from iTunes, both for $1.99 per episode.

// PROMOS
* Wander Radio podcast hosted by Jack Hosley, aka WNDRWolf.

// TRUE BLOOD
* We discuss the first episode of the second season, "Nothing But The Blood".
- I'll warn you now, there be spoilers here.

// WATCH TRUE BLOOD
* True Blood Season 2 premieres Sundays at 9PM on HBO.
- It continues to air throughout the week on their many channels, including HBO On Demand.
* Season 1 on DVD or on Blu-Ray
* You can also purchase the first season on iTunes, for $2.99 per episode or $34.99 for the whole season.
* And of course, there's always NetFlix.
* Catch up or read ahead with the books by Charlaine Harris

// PROMOS
* Evo @ 11 podcast, hosted by the inimitable Evo Terra, the irresistible Sheila Dee, and the incomparable Debbie Walker.

// MOVIES
* The next movie in our Netflix queue is Count Dracula (1977), starring Louis Jourdan.
- This version has been widely touted as the version that closest follows Stoker's novel rather than the play which most movies are based on.

// FAREWELL
* We wrapped the show by playing, "Vampire Lullaby" by Imaginitis.
- Music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network.

* Our intro music is "24 FPS" by À Rebours, from their album Vanish, which can be found at iTunes among other places. Check out Ian Stone's MySpace page and blog, too. Find out more about À Rebours and their sister bands at Final Joy Records.

That wraps up this episode of the Out Of The Coffin podcast. Thanks for listening!

RE: being human

Submitted by dot.dot.dot on June 22, 2009 - 2:42am.

heyy i know this is kinda old but i have watched being human and i must say it is rarther good, the transformation from man to wolf for the werewolfe is very good, also the storys are confusing seperatly but at the end and when you have watched all the episodes the all add up, it also is a completely new look and how the mythical world has to live with ordianary life. I would recomend watching this to any one. Oh and btw buffy is legdendy lol.
